Monthly Group Walk - April

Mass Central Rail Trail and Bruce Freeman Trail

When: Saturday, April 18th, 11:00 AM

Where: Mass Central Rail Trail and Bruce Freeman Rail Trail

Parking: Parking at Mill Village back parking lot (opposite Chili Basil Thai Restaurant)

This month's Group Hike will take place on the Mass Central Rail Trail and the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail and will be led by Ron Chick. From the Mill Village Parking lot, we will walk a short distance to the Mass Central Rail Trail and will follow it to where it intersects with the Bruce Freeman Trail. From there, we will head north as the Rail Trail passes through the Cavicchio Greenhouse property and onward through some very scenic woodlands. We will then turn around for the return trip.

Ron will also share some of the history of the trails and the future plans to extend the trails to connect to trails across the state and up and down the east coast.

  • The Terrain: These rail trails are paved and very flat. These are accessible trails!
  • Duration: Plan for an approximately 3-4 mile, 2-hour walk.

Logistics & Registration

  • Registration (Free!): While the hike is free, we ask that you register in advance. This helps us get an accurate headcount and—most importantly—allows us to reach you with any last-minute weather updates or cancellations. To register, visit our Google Form.

Find us on the Framingham Centre Common.

See you on the 25th!

How You Can Help City-Wide (April 10–26)

  1. Solo Sweeps: Pick up litter during your daily walk.
  2. Gather a Crew: Organize a mini-cleanup with friends and neighbors.
  3. Official KFB Events: Join one of the many other community shifts across the city.

Fill out the KFB Sign-up Form to join the city-wide effort!
