We're the Friends of Framingham Trails, a passionate group of local folks who love exploring the great outdoors right here in our own backyard. Started in 2023, we're all about bringing our community together, one trail at a time.
Our mission is simple: support and grow Framingham's trails. We're advocates, volunteers, nature lovers, and community builders. Whether we're maintaining trails, organizing group walks, or speaking up for trail development, we're committed to creating spaces that bring joy, health, promote sustainability, and connection to our community.
We're more than just a group – we're a community of outdoor enthusiasts who have already hit the ground running, sometimes literally!
We advocate for expanding trails throughout Framingham and MetroWest. Some of our members speak at local meetings in support of trail projects. We meet with legislators and local officials and attend community events - all to spread awareness about our trails and get people involved.
We've hosted several community walks and even organized a fun, family focused New Year's Eve Celebration on the Cochituate Rail Trail. We’re working on a number of new programs and initiatives, like a Trail Keepers program. Stay tuned!
The Friends of Framingham Trails believe trails are not just paths through the woods – they're lifelines of community, health, and connection. For us, trails are about:
